As a freelance workforce I am not part of your organisation. I bring unique knowledge that is needed for a certain project, which is not available at the company at that time. Therefore external effort is wished. To get our cooperation going, I would like to share the way I offer my knowledge as a freelance workforce, while being aligned with local law and tax regulations.

Depending on where your company is situated, other rules may apply. Please choose below to find out how it works for you.

1.

I decide how to do the work and when.

Quit a oneliner to start with. But this is where you can profit from my production peaks, since I work best in the late afternoon and evening, after I have recharged myself during a bike ride. The good news is that I deliver high quality communication strategies and creative out of the box content ideas. I work very pragmatic and plan ahead. Don’t worry, I am not the artist type working all night just to prevent a writers block. You can reach me easily during the day and I like to come over to work at your company regularly. Calls also help us in our cooperation. In this way we stay aligned and we can both manage expectations.

2.

It’s about a shorter-term assignment and a framed project

I am not available to close the gap of an open vacancy and fully integrate in the company for a couple of months. I am coming over to boost your communication strategy for a product launch, an (online) campaign or event. Of course I can run a big amount of hours in a shorter period, as long as there is a clear deadline and the assignment with its deliverables is defined. So if there is a vacancy for a communication specialist, I can do one clear project of that portfolio, but I won’t take the full assignment as a temporary job.

3.

I perform work that is not similar to what employees in your organisation do.

My unique knowledge isn't in-house and that's exactly why you hire me. For the open vacancy in the marketing or communications team, you need to look for a candidate. And the nice thing is, once you've found that person, you can continue to hire me in addition. As long as I bring unique knowledge, I am happy to add it to projects in your organisation.

4.

I have specific knowledge and experience that is not present at your company.

I am a conceptual thinker, I turn this into a marketing and communication strategy and I deliver marketing materials. Are you missing a copywriter in your team? Here I am! Looking for someone to come over and add structure to a team or look at processes with fresh eyes? Feel free to give me a call. International growth on the agenda, but you don't know how? My advice will take you further.

5.

I have the freedom to replace myself and I can actually also do so.

Despite bringing unique knowledge, I am not completely irreplaceable. I have a network of freelancers around me that I can call when I need a replacement. And they can call me when they need replacement. I always strive to deliver work of great quality.

6.

You pay me once I have send an invoice based on the actual hours I worked for you. When I am ill, I don’t get paid.

Every assignment starts with an offer in which we agree on the hourly rate. I invoice per assignment or - for longer assignments - per month. The invoice shows the total hours, the deliverables and the rate. You'll also find the VAT on it, as well as the payment term. And yes, if I have the flu, I lie on the couch, unpaid, recovering. If it takes very long, I have to call my network and have myself temporarily replaced. Fortunately, that has never happened before.

7.

The compensation for the work is significantly higher than what is normally paid to employees.

I base my hourly rate on the unique knowledge I bring with me. The income is different compared to a salary. I pay taxes, insurances and investments and safe for days I am off or ill.

8.

I bear entrepreneurial risk and make own investments for the work.

I invest in the knowledge I master and the resources I use. From a well-functioning laptop to language courses. And from a Microsoft 360 package to a good office chair for my home office.

9.

I behave as an entrepreneur. I actively manage my website and also work for other companies.

I work for multiple clients, manage my website and occasionally refresh my corporate identity. I regularly share blogs on LinkedIn and I do weekly acquisition for new assignments.

10.

We agree on the final result I deliver, the actual end product (resultaatverplichting).

Very specifically, this means that I deliver a product or service, which we agree on beforehand. That is the result of my effort. I link the expected number of hours of work and an hourly rate to it. And so together we form the assignment, which we record in an assignment confirmation. An example can be: “Delivery of 3 articles for publication on the website & in the monthly magazine” or “Define a strategy and deliver a brochure, a web page and a video for the marketing of the new product [name], to be launched during [event] on [date]”.

Your story, my passion.
