About this project
It started with my birthday at Madeira. Looking for a creative activity to better connect with the locals, we enjoyed an embroidery workshop of Bailha Madeira. It was David and his mom sharing a lot of knowhow on the madeira embroidery technique, history and habits that caught my attention. While concentrating on my master piece of embroidery trying to create the local Vilhões, I connected with David and his mom. David launched his company Bailha Madeira a couple of years ago to keep up the local heritage of Madeira embroidery and to connect and support the embroiderers on the island. A true story that deserves a true stage in Europe and beyond.
The cooperation
To spread the story of the embroidery history of the island, Bailha was in need of strategic and marketing support. We have set up an international cooperation to further explore how we can sharpen the positioning and share the story in Europe. The cooperation includes the organisation of embroidery retreats with an international target group.
